Technical analysis of the situation around Ukrainian Crimea peninsula

We have lots of political analysis about Ukraine and Russia and Crimea around, articles describing the transfer technically are more rare. Let me translate one for you.

So Crimea is the peninsula we used to have:

And there were photos on the internet depicting tractors working on some perforations happening at the neck:

So we wonder, what for do they do that? Answer is obvious – to separate the peninsula from the continental part! The most efficient way of attaching Crimea to Russia is by means of physical move.

Most probably that will happen in two parts. First one will be done overnight on 14ths of March. Crimea will be moved and will temporarily connected to Anapa. That will give Russia the great leverage as well as a reasons for frau Merkel to curse in Russian language now.

Next step is to connect Crimea with Sochi, so infrastructure useless after the Olympics can be used to drive the growth of the region.

The idea brings huge wins to everyone involved, so global changes are inevitable!

As you can see on the photo, the move is only a small piece of the plan – there’s lots of work to be done!

Woot enough

As I’m returning to dating arena after a while, I’m noticing one of the patterns here. It was never tooted enough compared to “Witty enough”, “Sexy enough” or “Earning enough”, so I’ll be claiming the right to be the very pioneer : )

“Interested enough” is a strategy in which one of the parties continuously throws sand in a wheels of the relationships to observe an another one proving themselves as “Interested enough”, if fixing the other party at some point decides not to fix all the stuff, it’s considered “Not interested enough”.

You can see that virtually in every kind of relationship building activities sometimes: dating, recruiting, friendship, etc.

The very argument I’d like to make is self contained in the question: “Probably, desperate enough?”. Life is too short to spend it continuously proving something to someone(I’d prefer actually using the energy to deliver more value). Anyway, if my choice is about spending some resources on stuff I like(and have a return of some kind, e.g. emotional) is coupled with spending resources on stuff I don’t like, then probably I just don’t have a choice, i.e. I’m kind of desperate.

From what I observe, freedom is greatly related to the productivity. It’s just about being able to cut the corners without spending too much resources on that. And that’s what’s virtually impossible to achieve on a regular basis without perceiving the multitude of choices you have at each and every moment.

So if you feel you’re being involved into a venture of this kind, try share your feelings and enter an agreement. Be ready to leave and open to other opportunities life has to offer you.

If someone is dead serious that you’re the very one and you can’t be replaced, take that with a grain of salt – either they’re blind, or lying.

Enjoy the freedom. May the force be with you : )

How to achieve more without straining yourself too much?

Recently I’ve attended the webinar. I love the guys personalities, but what they did as a team, was awesome :) Let me share couple of new exciting ideas with you.

Entertain your brain

There’s an idea that whenever your brain has some spare processing power, it starts on something new. Thus if you want to be focused to have something done in a reasonable time, sandbag(or, better entertain) it a bit.

Example: doing the dishes is boring, but what about doing them in one-handed mode only?

Be fast in decision making. Decide in advance

It’s a known fact that conscious multi-factor decision making is somewhat brittle. And also leads to a “paralysis by analysis” situations. Thus it’s usually easier to pick any option and improve as you go.

Another one thing is when you’re embarking on to decision making process, you have this fancy process of your brain areas activating and sedating each other(I do that all the time reasoning about “Why should I and bla-bla-bla”. Learn to follow your decision once made and that will save you tons of time. Also achievationers ideas apply here: it’s better to have another one deed to motivate you even more rather staying still.

Btw, this article is itself an example of the principle being applied.

Define goals clearly. Define them small

Again, clearly defined stuff prevents you from falling into the reasoning trap. Defining them small allows you to allocate enough resources(e.g. focus) to get the thing done and feel the hormone happiness from actually achieving something – so generate some of your tailwind yourself : )

Example: cleaning the house is rather large and vague, doing the dishes is good enough. Reading a book is vague, reading a book for 30 mins / reading 30 pages is just fine.

Prefer ‘training’ goals

The guys defined two type of goals ‘pitfall’ ones(huge chunks of work/unknowns) and ‘training’ ones – being small, clearly defined and rather easy to achieve.

Training goals don’t strain you that much, so you’ll do something more frequently this eventually yielding better result.

Example: I had a hard time raising my pushups count from 20 to 100 in 3 month, but targeting a joyful gym visit just today is just awesome/yeah, I still have long term numbers to achieve, but I don’t bother : )/

The Achievationers Book :: Chapter IV

04/ Don’t tie yourself to a single goal

Achievationer always has a plan “B”

Hard luck or a failure are primarily consequences of a backup plan absence. When all the hopes are about one thing and everything is on the line. Whenever all the eggs are in the same basket.

Asswrinklers have an “emergency exit”. Which is being used in case of hard luck, to get away: just to keep the ass intact.

Achievationers do differ. No luck with “Renault” – let’s try with “Peugeot”; does not work with a camel, let’s give it a try with an elephant; head-on won’t work – let’s try sideways or from the back. There always exists a choice among a set of equivalent(in terms of pressure) options. So every path will be awesome – this way and that. Whenever there’s a single path to the awesomeness – the things are rotten at the very moment.

Don’t put everything on the line. That will lead you to the asswrinklers cycle of perceiving only things which do confirm your plan and winking at everything else. This way it’s easy to get yourself into something and when you’ll do that, you won’t even notice: everything was going just as expected. Counting only votes for the plan and ignoring the rest just does not work whenever majority is the rest : ) And if you have plan “B” or, better “C” through “Z”, then the life is easier. Billiard is funkier that way. Instead of a single ball to a single pocket game, you have a dozen opportunities. And just pick one which is closer to a pocket. Which of your plans is the easiest to come true. That’s closer to what life is. Unrequited love, broken career, birth of a looser – everything is the absence of a backup plans.

Want to be outsider? – Ditch your “B” plan.
